Live blog on David Hughes talk on Pathways, Competence & the changing face of engineering at #innovisions

David is Head of Development at Eon.

David has shared his own career story to make a challenge about whether it is easy for apprentices to move into higher education.

There are problems with the public perception of engineering and engineers.

How do we provide incentives to encourage progression? What pathways are available.

Why is an undergraduate unemployed until they graduate? Could they not be on an HE apprenticeship programme?

If we develop the right pathways to higher skills we can meet the challenges we have in the sector. If we don’t we’ll lose talented people to other sectors.
