I really enjoyed writing this blog last Advent so I’m going to be doing the same thing again this year. Each day in Advent there will be a new blog post with my reflections on a bible reading.

The bible reading plan I am using this year was devised by Mars Hill church and I found the plan on this website here. It works through the 4 weeks of advent with these themes:

Hope

Peace

Joy

Love

I am also going to be using the resources from Traces of Advent – another innovative project from the team at Share Creative (of Natwivity fame!)

An advent prayer:

 

Keep us, O Lord,

while we tarry on this earth,

in a serious seeking after you,

and in an affectionate walking with you,

every day of our lives;

that when you come,

we may be found not hiding our talent,

nor serving the flesh,

nor yet asleep with our lamp unfurnished,

but waiting and longing for our Lord,

our glorious God for ever.
