Object #61 Casio Digital Horn ROM & MIDI DH-800 c.1990

P1100P1102

I won ??100 on my premium bonds when I was about 12 and I bought this electric saxophone thingy. You do actually blow into the mouthpiece to make a noise and it has six different ‘voices’: saxophone, trumpet, synth-reed, oboe, clarinet & flute. It doesn’t really sound like any of those instruments but it makes quite a pleasant sound. It has the same fingering as a recorder so I loved being able to play it straight away. I mainly used to play it at church in the evening services.

I think it might be broken now as I can’t seem to get it to work. I’m going to keep it though because I think it will one day be of interest from a historical point of view as it has a ROM pack feature on the back.
