We set up a new Ranger unit in Southend – 1st Southchurch North in the early 90s and I was one of the founding members. I’m pleased to say that the unit is still going strong. Ranger guides are aged between 14-24. We had great fun together & I’ll never forget our holiday in the Lake District seeing the hills for the first time (having grown up in flat Essex).

Fortunately Geoff Banks had changed the uniform from the one pictured here in 1990!
