My Dad’s best friend is the fantasy author Garry Kilworth. In the late 80s Garry started to write for children and I was his guinea pig reading early manuscripts of this book at the age of 9. Garry then put a lovely dedication in the front of this, his first children’s novel. It’s a great kids’ scifi story.

Garry’s had great success since with children’s fiction. If you look closely in the Welkin Weasels series there is a weasel called Bryony and one called Luke after me and my brother!
