I am an ordinand in the Church of England – trainee vicar in lay-speak! I am training at Cranmer Hall, Durham for two academic years – I’m due to be made deacon (God-willing) in 2014.
I have a wide variety of interests (as you’ll see from this blog) I love popular culture, tv, film, music and books. I love working with people and I’m a ridiculous optimist – my husband says I’m not a ‘glass half full’ person I’m an ‘Ooh, I’ve got a glass!’ person. I’ve been involved in the Girl Guides nearly all my life, helping most recently at a Guide unit in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire. I have also done youth work in a variety of contexts.
Up until now I have worked in the lifelong learning sector, in museum and library education, at the Learning and Skills Council working with FE colleges, in workforce development policy at the Sector Skills Council Lifelong Learning UK and as an Education Consultant at Frogtrade Ltd – an educational software company working with primary and secondary schools. In 2012 I worked as a social media consultant and trainer at Reach Further – based at Weetwood Hall in Leeds.
